TINY TOT BALLET
Our Tiny Tot Ballet program is specifically designed to provide a fun and supportive environment for developing a positive attitude toward ballet that encourages a life-long love of dance and a desire to grow into a confident and capable ballerina- and adult.
Using frequent praise, laughter, and small rewards to make class time fun and enjoyable, our Tiny Tot Ballet teachers encourage students to develop creativity, musicality, and dramatic expression. We foster an environment where students relate easily to teachers, so they are comfortable following lessons with their classmates. Tiny Tot Ballet lays the critical foundation for our youngest students to develop the confidence essential for the freedom of movement that will remain with them forever.
Tiny Tot Ballet utilizes the RAD’s Dance to Your Own Tune curriculum, delightful and fun lessons designed to motivate our youngest dancers. This gentle and playful introduction to the classical ballet world includes: skipping, galloping, hopping, jumping with two feet, running, free movement, using hands to express feeling, and even twirling your skirt. These elements of coordination and strength are the early building blocks of dance training that often entices our student to fall in love with ballet and inspires them to continue developing dance skills with us for years. Many of our students remain at our studios throughout their childhoods because we provide opportunities to receive RAD instruction through high school, audition for our para-professional training company, and explore tap, jazz, character, and modern dance. The depth and breadth of our program is unparalleled in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Santa Clarita Ballet Academy is a credentialed Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) school. All teachers are advanced and certified members of RAD. As such, we adhere to the highest standards of ballet instruction and utilize techniques proven to be physically, emotionally, and socially appropriate for each class level we teach. As part of our commitment to RAD instruction, students in all levels of our Tiny Tot Ballet are encouraged to participate in annual Class Presentations held each spring. These exams are administered in a friendly group setting, where Tiny Tots students present what they have learned to a visiting examiner, accompanied by live piano, and observed by parents and teachers. Because students in our regular Academy classes participate in exams annually, we find Tiny Tots are eager to be included in this important aspect of dance instruction and are proud to demonstrate their skills during exams.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS
Summertime offers an opportunity for all Tiny Tot Ballet dancers to attend SCBA Petite Dance Camp; a week long workshop of ballet, art, friendship, new skill instruction, and a final performance for parents our students eagerly anticipate each summer.
Students who have completed the Primary program are ready for a greater challenge and may participate in Junior Workshop, a two-week dance experience for students aged six to nine.

Each May our youngest dancers are invited to participate in a show designed to meet the needs of the pre-ballet student. This stage performance builds confidence and provides the experience for these children to later move into our Company productions at our community Performing Arts Center, once they are a little older.
When children are six-years-old and are participating in Primary classes, they are invited to appear in our annual holiday Nutcracker production at the gorgeous Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, wearing professionally designed and tailored costumes. This unique experience allows students to integrate into ballet culture under close adult supervision, gain exposure to the poise and artistic beauty of advanced and professional ballerinas, and begin gaining comfort on a real stage.
Once our Primary-aged Tiny Tot ballerinas participate in a full-scale production, they have acquired invaluable physical and social skills for navigating many of life’s challenges, have collected treasured childhood memories, and have laid an unshakable foundation for pursuing more rigorous ballet instruction.
To culminate the instructional year, Creative Movement, Pre-Primary, and younger Primary students are encouraged to participate in our Petite Ballet to show-off what they have learned. Performing in front of a supportive and enthusiastic audience of friends and family, students enjoy a recital featuring freshly imagined costumes and adorably choreographed dances set to a unique annual theme.
With studio approval, older Primary students may participate in our June production at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.
