Meet the Company

Haley Barr

Haleystarted dancing at the Santa Clarita Ballet at the age of 4 after seeing her very first SCB production of The Nutcracker. The following year she made her debut as a mouse and has performed in every SCB production of the show since. Haley has made so many forever friendships at SCB who she credits in helping her become the person she is today. She absolutely loves her teachers. They are so supportive and have taught her to be confident in herself and to persevere.

Calista Cano

Calista began dance when she was four years old, and has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet for five years now. Calista has been fortunate to participate in every production since coming to Santa Clarita Ballet. She currently holds her RAD Advanced 1 certificate. Calista enjoys the summer program provided at SCB, and in addition, attended the summer intensive at the Rock School for Dance Education this past summer. Calista is grateful for the wonderful teachers and training she is receiving at Santa Clarita Ballet.

Daniella Fernandez

Daniella has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since age 5. She joined the company when she was 11 years old, and holds her RAD Advance I certificate. She has performed in all the productions held during the last 12 years. Some of her favorite roles have been Fritz, Mirliton, and Russian in The Nutcracker, as well as Tweedledum in Alice in Wonderland. Daniella is very thankful to all the instructors that have taught and helped her during her training at Santa Clarita Ballet. It has been a wonderful and rewarding experience.

Sarah Grossinger

Sarah has been dancing at the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was seven years old. She has enjoyed participating in every production since she was first eligible to perform at SCB in The Nutcracker, doing double duty as a Mouse and a Gum Drop. She has enjoyed many friendships and appreciates the wonderful training that she has received from her teachers. Sarah looks forward to her continued experiences in the Santa Clarita Ballet Company.

Kristen Canady

Kristen has trained with Santa Clarita Ballet since age 3. She holds her Royal Academy Advanced 1 Certificate with Distinction and is preparing to take her Advanced 2 exam. She has performed in every possible performance with the studio since she joined. Kristen is thankful for the training and opportunities she has received at Santa Clarita Ballet Company.

Charlotte Dunne

Charlotte has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was three, and has enjoyed the memories that she has made during those twelve years. She has loved performing in the amazing productions every year and the bonds she has created with the teachers and students in the studio. Her favorite role to play was a Mirliton in The Nutcracker. She is very grateful for the training she has received and is excited for the years to come.

McKenzie Furie

McKenzie began dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet at the age of four years old. She has enjoyed dancing and performing in all productions by the Santa Clarita Ballet. Her favorite roles have been Arabian in The Nutcracker, and Prayer in Coppélia 2018. She holds all of the Royal Academy of dance Certificates up to Advanced 1, and will take the Advanced 2 exam in April. She is thankful for all of her teachers at Santa Clarita Ballet and will make many memories as this is her senior year.

Anna Holzinger

Anna has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since she was 3 years old. She is the last of 4 girls in her family who has enjoyed Santa Clarita’s Ballet dance education. She holds her Advanced 2 Certificate with Distinction and has participated in every ballet production. Anna especially enjoyed her role as Michael in Peter Pan, Fritz, Snow Princess and Flower Queen in The Nutcracker. Anna trained in several summer intensive programs including Santa Clarita Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Joffrey Ballet in Chicago as well as the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna. Anna is graduating High School this year and will continue her ballet training in the future.

Laurynn Hong

Laurynn has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was 7 years old. She enjoys dancing in all the ballet productions.

 

Kyra Karatsu

Kyra has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of three. Throughout the years, she has danced in numerous performances, including Alice in Wonderland, Coppélia, and the annual Nutcracker. She enjoys attending Santa Clarita Ballet’s summer training program and has also had the pleasure of participating in Colorado Ballet’s 2018 summer intensive. Kyra enjoys dancing with her friends in performances and is looking forward to dancing for many more years to come.

Keri McWilliams

Keri began dancing at the age of 3 and has trained with the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was 6 years old. She has enjoyed dancing and has performed in the numerous productions put on by the Santa Clarita Ballet. Some of her favorite roles include a Mirliton in The Nutcracker and Daisy demi-soloist in Alice in Wonderland. Keri is grateful for the training she has received and looks forward to her remaining years at the Santa Clarita Ballet.

Priscilla Pope

Priscilla began dancing at the age of two, and joined the Santa Clarita Ballet at the age of 5. She holds every RAD exam certificate with Distinction through Advanced 1, and is preparing to take her Advanced 2 exam next spring. Priscilla has enjoyed dancing in every Santa Clarita Ballet production, and has especially loved her roles as Curly the Lost Boy in Peter Pan as well as Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland. Over summer, Priscilla has attended numerous intensive programs including the Santa Clarita Ballet, Boston Ballet in Massachusetts, and the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School in Florida. She is very thankful to have been taught so many different styles of dance by such wonderful instructors, and is looking forward to continuing her training.

Gianna Juliet

Gianna has danced with the Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of five. She holds every RAD exam certificate through Advanced 2 with Distinction. She feels lucky and grateful to have been given such fantastic training. Her favorite roles so far have been Fritz, Marie, and the Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Garland Dancer in Sleeping Beauty, White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, and Swanhilda’s Friend in Coppélia.

Sydney Lopez

Sydney has been dancing with Santa Clarita ballet since she was three years old in 2005. She has performed in all available productions with the studio since she joined and feels completely at home while on stage. She has enjoyed every production and every unique performance. She loves the annual Nutcracker performances, and Alice in Wonderland is her favorite production. Santa Clarita Ballet continues to give her life-long skills, lasting friendships and wonderfully heart-warming memories that she will surely treasure forever.

Claire O'Connell

Claire has danced with Santa Clarita Ballet for eleven years and has been a company member since 2014. She currently holds her RAD Advanced 1 certificate and looks forward to continuing her training with the company throughout high school. Since joining Santa Clarita Ballet, Claire has participated in every production and has particularly enjoyed the roles of Chinese in Nutcracker,What’s-it the Dwarf in Snow White, and a Snow Princess in Nutcracker. Claire is a junior at Saugus High School.

Isabelle Salvador

Isabelle has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of 6. She holds every RAD Exam Certificate and is preparing to take her Advanced 1 exam. She has enjoyed participating in SCB’s Summer Intensive program and numerous productions including the annual performance of The Nutcracker. Isabelle is very grateful to be mentored by amazingly talented instructors and blessed at the same time for the opportunity to dance with her “ballet family”. She is looking forward to creating new memories with her remaining years with the Santa Clarita Ballet Company.

Kathryn Supple

Kathryn has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet for ten years. She has enjoyed dancing in numerous performances, some of her favorite roles being a Dwarf in Snow White, Lead Rose in Alice in Wonderland and Friend in Coppelia. In the summer of 2017, Kathr yn attended the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive and this past summer attended Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet’s summer intensive. She holds her Advanced 1 Certificate and looks forward to her remaining years with the Santa Clarita Ballet Company.

Katie Triandos

Katie has been dancing since she was three and started at Santa Clarita Ballet when she was four. She has enjoyed performing in every production possible. Her favorite production she participated in was Peter Pan. She is grateful for all her teachers at Santa Clarita Ballet and is excited for her remaining years to come.

Kara Young

has trained with Santa Clarita Ballet for 12 years, 3 of which have been with the Company. She enjoys the training that she receives from the talented teachers, performing in the amazing productions and the lifelong friends she has made. She currently holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Foundation Certificate and is training for her Advanced 1 certificate. Some of Kara’s most memorable roles with Santa Clarita Ballet were Fritz and Chinese in The Nutcracker and participating in Coppélia and Peter Pan. Kara is 15 years old and a sophomore at Valencia High School. She looks forward to many more years dancing in the Santa Clarita Ballet Company.

SCB Alumni

These students received their formal ballet training with Santa Clarita Ballet Academy under the direction of Corinne Glover and the SCBA staff; Carol Guidry, Danica Primo and Pamela Sosa. In addition, they have all completed their Advanced Level Royal Academy of Dance Examinations, and are full members of the Academy. They were all members of the Santa Clarita Ballet Company, and enjoyed many years of high level performing experience while with the SCBC.

DANCE COMPANY PROFESSIONALS

Anna Carnes

Anna spent summers at American Ballet Theatre, Aspen Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and LINES Ballet. She earned her BFA in Dance Performance with a Minor in Educational Studies from UC Irvine. She is currently a member of State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara, CA.

Madeline DeVries

Madeline joined the Pre-Professional Program at Pacific North West Ballet in Seattle, WA. She spent a year in Germany as an apprentice with Dresden Ballet. She is currently contracted to Lines Ballet in San Francisco.

Anatalia Hordov

Anatalia trained at SCBA from age 3. She completed her RAD Advanced 2 with Distinction. Anatalia was one of 12 students chosen to study at the Colburn Dance Academy during the 2015-2016 school year under the direction of Jennifer Ringer and Artistic Director Benjamin Millepied.Anatalia has attended summer intensives with San Francisco Ballet and the School of American Ballet. She placed 3rd in the Senior Women’s Classical category at YAGP in 2014 and proceeded to compete at the finals in New York, where she received a scholarship to Staatsballett Berlin.Anatalia was the recipient of the Darcy Bussell Bursary Scholarship for the 2015 Genée International Ballet Competition in London, one of 10 students worldwide chosen to receive this award. She was one of 9 female finalists at the competition.Anatalia has been contracted with the San Francisco Ballet for the 2018-19 season.

Tawny Gentry Clement

Tawny is a member of Storling Dance Theatre as well as Maxxas Dance Theatre, in Kansas. Previously, she lived in Houston,Texas and was a member of Ad Deum Dance Company and had the opportunity to tour to several places including Los Angeles, Florida, New York, Singapore, and Malaysia. Tawny is currently on the teaching staff at SCBA.

Kate Gonzales

Kate studied at Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of 4. She holds her RAD Advanced 2 with Distinction. She performed with the SCBC for four years. Kate has been contracted with State Street Ballet for the 2018-19 season.

Dylan Ward

Dylan went on to join the Pre-Professional Trainee Program at the San Francisco Ballet and was there for three years. He then joined the Washington, DC Ballet in 2009.

Hannah Wilcox

Hannah attended summer programs with American Ballet Theatre in New York and Miami City Ballet. She also attended Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division Program in Seattle, WA. Hannah was a member of Grand Rapids Ballet, Patricia Barker Artistic Director. Hannah has been contracted with the Royal Swedish Ballet for the 2018-19 season. She will be relocating to Stockholm, Sweden this July.

Emma Coughlin

Emma attended the Santa Clarita Ballet for 11 years. She was a member of our company and performed in many lead roles. She is a full member of the Royal Academy of Dance and holds her Advanced 2 Certificate. Emma is currently a trainee with Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco.  She is pursuing a professional career in dance.

Sidney Haefs

Sidney began training at the Santa Clarita Ballet at age of 31⁄2. She holds her RAD Advanced 2 with Distinction. This past spring, Sidney graduated from the University of Utah Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Ballet as well as a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. She has performed in many productions during her time at the University of Utah. These include, the lead in Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, Ilya Kozadayev’s Harmonic Inspirations, Melissa Bobik’s Legacy, and the lead of The Black Swan in the University of Utah’s Production of Swan Lake Act III. She has also performed in Bournonville’s Le Conservatoriate, and most recently Val Caniparoli’s She’s So Fine pas de deux. Sidney is currently a trainee with the Kansas City Ballet.

DANCE INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

Amy Garbett

Amy Garbett is currently a dancer for Princess Cruises. She graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2012 earning her degree with a double major in mathematics and dance. Amy performed with Musical Theatre West and DOMA Theatre Company’s Nine. She can also be seen as a dancer in various films and music videos.

Suzanne Narbonne

Suzanne graduated from UCSB and danced with State Street Ballet. She is currently touring the US with international Burlesque star Dita Von Teese in her full-length revue. She is a member of the award-winning Troubadour Theater Company and is presently performing in her 6th production with the acclaimed troupe.

Lennon Hobson

Lennon graduated from Loyola Marymount with her degree in dance. She is currently working in Hollywood as a freelance dancer for Television, Film and Video, and is building a professional career.

Kylen Plummer

Kylen graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received her degree in dance. She is currently working with Princess Cruises as a professional dancer. She is on her second tour at this time.

Hannah McNany

Hannah McNany hails from Valencia, CA and studied at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy for 10 years until finishing Advanced Two. Studying under Gary Masters at San Jose State, she obtained her BFA in Dance in 2014 while also being awarded Outstanding Graduating Senior in Performance. She has danced with Quicksilver Dance, Axis Dance Co., Peter & Co. (SF), REACH BC Dance Company, and previously worked with Robert Dekkers, LevyDance, Rogelio Lopez, and Project Agora (Kara Davis). Prior training includes SCB, Los Angeles Ballet, BalletMet and R.A.D. Now living in Sausalito, Hannah is a freelance dancer/teacher and part-time model. Currently she teaches at TutuSchool in Burlingame and Menlo Park Academy of Dance while also finding time to finish up her studies for CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) with the RAD which will award Hannah with RTS.

UNIVERSITY DANCE PROGRAM STUDENTS

Gabriella Sena Cario

Gabriella performed with Santa Clarita Ballet beginning in first grade up until Intermediate Foundation when she left to pursue Musical Theatre. She has been in multiple shows including Jo in Little Women, Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and more recently Maria in Sound of Music. She is thrilled to be attending NYU in the fall to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre, and can’t thank the company enough for the amazing dance training it provided her.

Julia Dunne

Julia trained with the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was three. She has had the privilege to attend American Ballet Theater’s summer intensive program. She currently holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 certificate. Julia is attending the University of South Carolina as a double major in dance and exercise science.

Celine Kiner

Celine continues her dance training as a part of the inaugural class at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, where she has been fortunate enough to work with artists such as William Forsythe, Alonzo King, Barak Marshall, and Bill T. Jones under the direction of Jodie Gates. She has performed in repertory showcases in works by Jirí Kylián, Paul Taylor, George Balanchine, and most recently in Alejandro Cerrudo’s Lickety- split, William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated and RYBG, and Barak Marshall’s Monger.

Mia Lachman

Mia trained with the Santa Clarita Ballet from age 5. She performed many memorable roles with the SCB company. Mia holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 Certificate with distinction. This past year, Mia attended the year round program with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She has been offered a position in the Joffrey Conservatory program for 2018-19.

Emily Chapman

Emily is currently studying in the Ballet Department of the University of Utah. She has enjoyed working with the prestigious staff in the ballet department and looks forward to learning more from all her professors. During her time in Utah, Emily has performed in original works by guest artists Lesley Telford, entitled One29, and Gabrielle Lamb, entitled Springload, in addition to new works created by faculty members Jay Kim and Melissa Bobick. She also performed in the first staging of Stephen Petronio’s Middlesexgorge in a university setting. Recently, Emily was able to explore the art of choreography and present her work in the Ballet Department’s Student Showcase, and looks forward to performing in a new work by Mathew Neenan, co-founder and resident choreographer of BalletX, in the spring.

Alexandria Finley

Alexandria trained with Santa Clarita Ballet Academy since age 3, and completed all Royal Academy of Dance examinations with high marks, culminating in a Distinction in her Advanced 2 exam. She was one of ten dancers to receive the Darcey Bussell Genée Bursary to compete in the 2016 RAD Genée International Ballet Competition in Sydney, Australia. Ali graduated from UC Berkeley with her degree in Computer Science. She plans to continue dancing.

Danielle Lieberman

With SCB’s guidance, Danielle had opportunities to train with The Bolshoi Ballet and The Juilliard School during summers and was invited to study in Prague for two weeks. In the fall of 2016, Danielle will be attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a ballet major. Apart from dance she hopes to pursue a career in creative writing or journalism.

Elida De Fazio

Elida trained with Santa Clarita Ballet for more than 10 years. She holds her RAD Advanced 2 certificate with Distinction. She was accepted into the Alvin Ailey Certificate Program in New York City but has decided to defer for a year and is pursuing dance here in Los Angeles. She is pursuing a professional career in dance.

Sofia Holzinger

Sofia started her ballet training at Santa Clarita Ballet at age 3. She enjoys classical ballet training as well as jazz, tap and modern dance. She also attended summer programs at Santa Clarita Ballet as well as American Ballet Theatre in Orange County, Ballet West in Salt Lake City and with the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna. She holds her Advanced 2 RAD Certificate. Sofia is currently attending UC Santa Barbara and is majoring in dance.

Dakota Smith

Dakota began dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet at age 3. Dakota continued to dance when she moved to Germany. For her senior year, she returned to California to finish her dance training with the SCB Company. Dakota is currently attending UC Santa Barbara and is majoring in dance.
