Lauren began dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy when she was three years old. She joined the company at age 12 and has been in every production since. Some of her favorite productions include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Sleeping Beauty and the annual performance of The Nutcracker. Her most recent roles include Wendy in Peter Pan and the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy in this season's, The Nutcracker. She holds all Royal Academy of Dance exam certificates as of Spring 2016. Lauren is truly thankful for all the encouragement and opportunities to grow that the Santa Clarita Ballet has provided. She is looking forward to pursuing her love of ballet as a dance major in college after graduation.
Taylor began dancing at the age of 3 and joined the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy in 2006. She currently holds her RAD Advanced 1 certificate and has performed in as many of the Santa Clarita Ballet performances as possible. Some of her favorite roles over the years include Mirltion in The Nutcracker, Silver Gem in Sleeping Beauty and, of course, a Mermaid in Peter Pan last Spring. She has been looking forward to being the Snow Queen since she started dancing and is thrilled to be taking on that role in her last performance of The Nutcracker. Taylor is 18 years old and a senior in high school.
Erica started dancing at the age of three and came to Santa Clarita Ballet Academy when she was five. Since then, she has received her Advanced 1 RAD certificate and participated in numerous productions. Her favorite roles include White Cat in Sleeping Beauty, Tigerlily in Peter Pan, and French Doll in The Nutcracker. She is thankful for all her teachers and looks forward to her remaining time as a company member
Emily has been at the Santa Clarita ballet for eleven years now. Of those eleven years she has been a part of the company for four years. During this time she has fallen in love with art enjoying roles such as Mr. Smee in Peter Pan and Spanish in Nutcracker. Emily is so blessed with this opportunity to be under the instruction of such incredible teachers and participating in such flawless and incredible productions.
Anna has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since she was 3 years old. She is the last of 4 girls in her family who has enjoyed Santa Clarita’s Ballet education. She participated in every Santa Clarita Ballet production and especially enjoyed her role as Michael in Peter Pan, Fritz, Russian, Snow Princess and Chinese in The Nutcracker. Anna trained in several summer intensive programs including Santa Clarita Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Ballet West in Salt Lake City as well the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna. She is looking forward to continuing her ballet education.
Brooke has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet for 13 years. She has been mentored by some of the most amazing and highly trained instructors and has formed lifelong friendships. She has performed in numerous Nutcrackers and has had the privilege of performing the role of Marie in 2015. Through the Santa Clarita Ballet, she has gotten to perform her favorite piece “As The Piano Rolls” choreographed by Carol Guidry, for Santa Clarita’s non-profit organization fundraiser, “Dancing With Our Stars”. She recently had the opportunity to perform with Santa Clarita’s Master Chorale as they performed the amazing “Handel’s Messiah”. She currently holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 certificate. Brooke is a junior in high school.
Emma has been dancing at the Santa Clarita Ballet for 11 years. She is so honored to play the roles of Flower Queen and Rat King in this season's Nutcracker. She was also thrilled to be cast as Second Star to the Right in Peter Pan and Carabosse in Carol Guidry’s staging of Sleeping Beauty. She currently holds her RAD Advanced I certificate, and has attended summer intensives at RAD, ABT, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and most recently at Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco. Emma is so thankful for the training she has received at the Santa Clarita Ballet and looks forward to another great season.
Sofia has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since she was 3 years old. She enjoys her classical ballet training as well as jazz, tap and modern dance. She participated in all of Santa Clarita Ballet productions and some of her favorite parts include Lost Boy in Peter Pan, French Doll, Chinese and Flower Queen in The Nutcracker. Sofia trained in summer programs at Santa Clarita Ballet as well as American Ballet Theatre in Orange County, Ballet West in Salt Lake City and with the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna. She is planning to continue her dance education when she graduates in 2017.
Elida De Fazio
Elida has trained with Santa Clarita Ballet for more than 10 years. She holds her RAD Advanced I Certificate. She has performed in Snow White, Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. She was selected by Miss Carol to dance in As The Piano Rolls, representing Santa Clarita Ballet as the opening act for the community fundraiser, Dancing with Our Stars. She participated in the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive 2014 and was offered a scholarship for the 4-year Joffrey Ballet Training Program in New York. She also trained at IALS in Rome, Italy in 2015. She is a senior at William S. Hart High School and looks forward to pursuing a career in dance.
Julia has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was three. Over those thirteen years, she has been trained by wonderful teachers and has made many lifelong friends. Some of Julia’s favorite productions include the original piece Second Line, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. Last year’s Nutcracker was particularly memorable because she got to dance with all three of her siblings. She currently holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 certificate, and this past summer attended American Ballet Theater’s summer intensive program.
Mia has been dancing at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy since she was 5. She has had many memorable performances and some of her favorites include, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Second Line. Mia holds her RAD Advanced 1 certificate with distinction and looks forward to taking her Advanced 2 exam. She loves dancing along side her close friends and training with her encouraging teachers. She plans to continue dancing well into the future.
Gianna has danced with the Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of five. She holds every RAD exam certificate with Distinction through Advanced 1 and is preparing to take her Advanced 2 exam in the near future. She feels lucky and grateful to have been given such fantastic training. Her favorite roles so far have been Fritz and French Doll in The Nutcracker, Garland Dancer in The Sleeping Beauty, and Shadow in Peter Pan. Gianna is looking forward to the years ahead and is appreciative of her experiences with SCB. Gianna attends high school with a distance education program.
These students received their formal ballet training with Santa Clarita Ballet Academy under the direction of Corinne Glover and the SCBA staff; Carol Guidry, Danica Primo, Pamela Sosa, and Jerry Kokich. In addition, they have all completed their Advanced Level Royal Academy of Dance Examinations, and are full members of the Academy. They were all members of the Santa Clarita Ballet Company, and enjoyed many years of high level performing experience while with the SCBC.
Tawny Gentry Clement
Tawny is a member of Storling Dance Theatre as well as Maxxas Dance Theatre, in Kansas. She has performed lead roles in several productions including Butterfly, Suspended Grace, The Prodigal Daughter, and 3 Days. Previously, she lived in Houston, Texas and was a member of Ad Deum Dance Company and had the opportunity to tour to several places including Los Angeles, Florida, New York, Singapore, and Malaysia. Tawny is currently on the teaching staff at SCBA.
Hannah attended summer programs with American Ballet Theatre in New York and Miami City Ballet. She also attended Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division Program in Seattle, WA. Hannah is currently under contract with Grand Rapids Ballet, Patricia Barker Artistic Director.
Alexandra completed the Trainee Program with Los Angeles Ballet Company, in Los Angeles. She performed with the Company in their productions. She is currently attending FIDM and studying merchandise and marketing.
Lauren attended summers at Julliard in New York. She graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in dance. She is currently working with Disney Productions as a dancer and performer.
Sidney attended American Ballet Theatre Summer Workshop in 2011 and 2012, and Boston Ballet in 2013 and 2014. She will begin her BFA in Ballet at the University of Utah in the fall of 2015.
Alexandria will attend the University of California, Berkeley as a Regent’s and Chancellor’s Scholar where she will major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. She has been accepted into the Berkeley Ballet Theater’s pre-professional program, and will be dancing with them during her time in Berkeley.
Kate enjoyed studying at Houston Ballet during the summer of 2015. She will be joining the State Street Ballet trainee program and plans to pursue a professional career in dance.
Suzanne graduated from UCSB and danced with State Street Ballet. She is currently touring the US with international Burlesque star Dita Von Teese in her full-length revue. She is a member of the award-winning Troubadour Theater Company and is presently performing in her 6th production with the acclaimed troupe.
Season trained with Boston Ballet and in 2009 was an apprentice at the Joffrey Ballet. She has been a principal dancer in Luminario Ballet and State Street Ballet. She is currently working with Melissa Barkar’s Dance Company. She also free-lances as a guest artist.
Kylen graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received her degree in dance. She is currently working with Princess Cruises as a professional dancer. She is on her second tour at this time.
Amy Garbett is currently a dancer for Princess Cruises. She graduated from LMU in 2012 earning her degree with a double major in mathematics and dance. Amy performed with Musical Theatre West and DOMA Theatre Company’s Nine. She can also be seen as a dancer in various films and music videos.
Monica attended American Ballet Theatre summer workshops in both Irvine and New York. She will attend the University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall of 2014 as a Dance major.
Celine will attend the University of Southern California in the fall of 2015 as part of the inaugural class of the Kaufman School of Dance. She will double-major in Dance and Pre-Medicine.
With SCB’s guidance, Danielle had opportunities to train with The Bolshoi Ballet and The Juilliard School during summers and was invited to study in Prague for two weeks. In the fall of 2016, Danielle will be attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a ballet major. Apart from dance she hopes to pursue a career in creative writing or journalism.
Anna is a recipient of the RAD Solo Seal Award and holds a BFA in Dance from UC Irvine, where she was a member of Donald McKayle's Etude Ensemble. She danced professionally with Oakland Ballet, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, and Menlowe Ballet in Principal and Soloist roles. Anna is currently in her third season with State Street Ballet.
Dylan went on to join the Pre-Professional Trainee Program at the San Francisco Ballet and was there for three years. He then joined the Washington, DC Ballet in 2009.
Madeline joined the Pre-Professional Program at Pacific North West Ballet in Seattle, WA. She spent a year in Germany as an apprentice with Dresden Ballet. She is currently contracted to Lines Ballet in San Francisco.
Lennon graduated from Loyola Marymount with her degree in dance. She is currently working in Hollywood as a freelance dancer for Television, Film and Video, and is building a professional career.
Caroline has completed the Trainee Program with the Los Angeles Ballet Company in Los Angeles 2013-2014.
Emily attended summers at Ballet West. She will be attending the University of Utah in the fall of 2015 where she has been accepted into their prestigious Ballet Department.
Anatalia was chosen as one of 12 students to study at the Colburn’s newly formed pre-professional program, the Colburn Dance Academy; under the direction of Jenifer Ringer and Artistic Director Benjamin Millepied. She has attended summer intensives with San Francisco Ballet and School of American Ballet. She placed 3rd in the Senior Women’s Classical category at the Youth America Grand Prix in 2015 and proceeded to the finals in New York. She has been awarded a full scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Dance Genée International Ballet Competition this September in London.
