Emily has been at the Santa Clarita ballet for eleven years now. Of those eleven years she has been a part of the company for four years. During this time she has fallen in love with art enjoying roles such as Mr. Smee in Peter Pan and Spanish in Nutcracker. Emily is so blessed with this opportunity to be under the instruction of such incredible teachers and participating in such flawless and incredible productions.
Erica started dancing at the age of three and came to Santa Clarita Ballet Academy when she was five. Since then, she has received her Advanced 1 RAD certificate and participated in numerous productions. Her favorite roles include White Cat in Sleeping Beauty, Tigerlily in Peter Pan, and French Doll in The Nutcracker. She is thankful for all her teachers and looks forward to her remaining time as a company member
Brooke has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet for 13 years. She has been mentored by some of the most amazing and highly trained instructors and has formed lifelong friendships. She has performed in numerous Nutcrackers and has had the privilege of performing the role of Marie in 2015. Through the Santa Clarita Ballet, she has gotten to perform her favorite piece “As The Piano Rolls” choreographed by Carol Guidry, for Santa Clarita’s non-profit organization fundraiser, “Dancing With Our Stars”. She recently had the opportunity to perform with Santa Clarita’s Master Chorale as they performed the amazing “Handel’s Messiah”. She currently holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 certificate. Brooke is a junior in high school.
Kristen has trained with Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of three. She is 15 years old and holds her Royal Academy Advanced 1 Certificate with Distinction. She has performed in every possible performance with the studio since she joined. Kristen is thankful for the training and opportunities she has received at Santa Clarita Ballet Company. She looks forward to many more years with the Company. Kristen is a sophomore at Canyon High School.
Daniella Fernandez began dancing at the age of 3 and joined the Santa Clarita Ballet in 2007. She currently holds her RAD Advanced I certificate and has performed in every Santa Clarita Ballet performance possible. Some of her favorite roles over the past 11 years include Fritz and Mirliton in The Nutcracker, Tweedledum in Alice in Wonderland, and a Dwarf in Snow White. Daniella looks forward to the years to come and is very thankful for the wonderful training she has received.
Kathryn has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet for nine years. She has enjoyed dancing in numerous performances, some of her favorite roles being a Dwarf in Snow White, Chinese in The Nutcracker, and Lead Rose in Alice in Wonderland. This past summer, Kathryn attended the Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive. She holds her Advanced 1 Certificate and looks forward to her remaining years with the Santa Clarita Ballet Company.
Julia has been dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet since she was three. Over those thirteen years, she has been trained by wonderful teachers and has made many lifelong friends. Some of Julia’s favorite productions include the original piece Second Line, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. Last year’s Nutcracker was particularly memorable because she got to dance with all three of her siblings. She currently holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 certificate, and this past summer attended American Ballet Theater’s summer intensive program.
Anna has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since she was 3 years old. She is the last of 4 girls in her family who has enjoyed Santa Clarita’s Ballet education. She participated in every Santa Clarita Ballet production and especially enjoyed her role as Michael in Peter Pan, Fritz, Russian, Snow Princess and Chinese in The Nutcracker. Anna trained in several summer intensive programs including Santa Clarita Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, Ballet West in Salt Lake City as well the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna. She is looking forward to continuing her ballet education.
Gianna has danced with the Santa Clarita Ballet since the age of five. She holds every RAD exam certificate with Distinction through Advanced 1 and is preparing to take her Advanced 2 exam in the near future. She feels lucky and grateful to have been given such fantastic training. Her favorite roles so far have been Fritz and French Doll in The Nutcracker, Garland Dancer in The Sleeping Beauty, and Shadow in Peter Pan. Gianna is looking forward to the years ahead and is appreciative of her experiences with SCB. Gianna attends high school with a distance education program.
Calista began dance when she was four years old, and has been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet for five years now. Calista has been fortunate to participate in every production since coming to Santa Clarita Ballet. She currently holds her RAD Advanced 1 certificate. Calista enjoys the summer program provided at SCB, and in addition, attended the summer intensive at the Rock School for Dance Education this past summer. Calista is grateful for the wonderful teachers and training she is receiving at Santa Clarita Ballet.
McKenzie began dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet at the age of four years old. She has enjoyed dancing and performing in all productions by the Santa Clarita Ballet. Her favorite role has been a Mushroom Lead Soloist in the production of Alice in Wonderland. (2017) She holds all of the Royal Academy of dance Certificates up to Advance 1. She is thankful for all of her teachers at Santa Clarita Ballet.
These students received their formal ballet training with Santa Clarita Ballet Academy under the direction of Corinne Glover and the SCBA staff; Carol Guidry, Danica Primo, Pamela Sosa, and Jerry Kokich. In addition, they have all completed their Advanced Level Royal Academy of Dance Examinations, and are full members of the Academy. They were all members of the Santa Clarita Ballet Company, and enjoyed many years of high level performing experience while with the SCBC.
Tawny is a member of Storling Dance Theatre as well as Maxxas Dance Theatre, in Kansas. She has performed lead roles in several productions including Butterfly, Suspended Grace, The Prodigal Daughter, and 3 Days. Previously, she lived in Houston, Texas and was a member of Ad Deum Dance Company and had the opportunity to tour to several places including Los Angeles, Florida, New York, Singapore, and Malaysia. Tawny is currently on the teaching staff at SCBA.
Hannah attended summer programs with American Ballet Theatre in New York and Miami City Ballet. She also attended Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Professional Division Program in Seattle, WA. Hannah is currently under contract with Grand Rapids Ballet, Patricia Barker Artistic Director.
Hannah McNany hails from Valencia, CA and studied at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy for 10 years until finishing Advanced Two. Studying under Gary Masters at San Jose State, she obtained her BFA in Dance in 2014 while also being awarded Outstanding Graduating Senior in Performance. She has danced with Quicksilver Dance, Axis Dance Co., Peter & Co. (SF), REACH BC Dance Company, and previously worked with Robert Dekkers, LevyDance, Rogelio Lopez, and Project Agora (Kara Davis). Prior training includes SCB, Los Angeles Ballet, BalletMet and R.A.D. Now living in Sausalito, Hannah is a freelance dancer/teacher and part-time model. Currently she teaches at TutuSchool in Burlingame and Menlo Park Academy of Dance while also finding time to finish up her studies for CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) with the RAD which will award Hannah with RTS.
Sidney began training at the Santa Clarita Ballet at age of 31⁄2. She holds her RAD Advanced 2 with Distinction. She is currently attending the University of Utah and will graduate May 2018 with a BFA in Classical Ballet. She has performed in many productions during her time at the University of Utah. They include Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, Ilya Kozadayev’s Harmonic Inspirations, Melissa Bobik’s Legacy, most currently the lead of The Black Swan in the University of Utah’s Production of Swan Lake Act III. This past November, she performed in Bournonville’s Le Conservatoriate and is now working on Val Caniparoli’s She’s So Fine for the University’s Spring 2018 performance. She is thankful for the Santa Clarita Ballet for molding her into the dancer she is today.
Alexandria trained with Santa Clarita Ballet Academy since age 3, and completed all Royal Academy of Dance examinations with high marks, culminating in a Distinction on her Advanced 2 exam in 2015. She is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as a Regents’ Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, while continuing her training with Berkeley Ballet Theater’s pre-professional Youth Division. She was one of ten dancers to receive the Darcey Bussell Genée Bursary to compete in the 2016 RAD Genée International Ballet Competition in Sydney, Australia.
Kate enjoyed studying at Houston Ballet during the summer of 2015. She will be joining the State Street Ballet trainee program and plans to pursue a professional career in dance.
Emma attended the Santa Clarita Ballet for 11 years. She was a member of our company and performed in many lead roles. She is a full member of the Royal Academy of Dance and holds her Advanced 2 Certificate. Emma is currently a trainee with Alonzo King LINES Ballet in San Francisco. She is pursuing a professional career in dance.
Suzanne graduated from UCSB and danced with State Street Ballet. She is currently touring the US with international Burlesque star Dita Von Teese in her full-length revue. She is a member of the award-winning Troubadour Theater Company and is presently performing in her 6th production with the acclaimed troupe.
Season trained with Boston Ballet and in 2009 was an apprentice at the Joffrey Ballet. She has been a principal dancer in Luminario Ballet and State Street Ballet. She is currently working with Melissa Barkar’s Dance Company. She also free-lances as a guest artist.
Kylen graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received her degree in dance. She is currently working with Princess Cruises as a professional dancer. She is on her second tour at this time.
Amy Garbett is currently a dancer for Princess Cruises. She graduated from LMU in 2012 earning her degree with a double major in mathematics and dance. Amy performed with Musical Theatre West and DOMA Theatre Company’s Nine. She can also be seen as a dancer in various films and music videos.
Celine continues her dance training as a part of the inaugural class at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, where she has been fortunate enough to work with artists such as William Forsythe, Desmond Richardson, Alonzo King, and Bill T. Jones under the direction of Jodie Gates. She has performed in repertory showcases in works by Jirí Kylián, Paul Taylor, and most recently in Alejandro Cerrudo’s Lickety-split, William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated and RYBG, and George Balanchine’s Serenade, The Four Temperaments, and Who Cares.
With SCB’s guidance, Danielle had opportunities to train with The Bolshoi Ballet and The Juilliard School during summers and was invited to study in Prague for two weeks. In the fall of 2016, Danielle will be attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a ballet major. Apart from dance she hopes to pursue a career in creative writing or journalism.
Lauren began dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy when she was three years old. She joined the company at age 12 and performed lead roles any many of the company productions. Lauren has completed her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 with Distinction. She is currently a dance major at the University of Utah and is pursuing a professional career in dance.
Dakota began dancing with the Santa Clarita Ballet at age 3. Dakota continued to dance when she moved to Germany. For her senior year, she returned to California to finish her dance training with the SCB Company. Dakota is currently attending UC Santa Barbara and is majoring in dance.
Elida De Fazio
Elida trained with Santa Clarita Ballet for more than 10 years. She holds her RAD Advanced 2 certificate with Distinction. She was accepted into the Alvin Ailey Certificate Program in New York City but has decided to defer for a year and is pursuing dance here in Los Angeles. She is pursuing a professional career in dance.
Mia trained with the Santa Clarita Ballet from age 5. She performed many memorable roles with the SCB company. Mia holds her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 1 Certificate with distinction. This past summer, Mia attended the summer program with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She was offered a position in the Joffrey year round program for 2017-18.
Anna is a recipient of the RAD Solo Seal Award and holds a BFA in Dance from UC Irvine, where she was a member of Donald McKayle's Etude Ensemble. She danced professionally with Oakland Ballet, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, and Menlowe Ballet in Principal and Soloist roles. Anna is currently in her third season with State Street Ballet.
Dylan went on to join the Pre-Professional Trainee Program at the San Francisco Ballet and was there for three years. He then joined the Washington, DC Ballet in 2009.
Madeline joined the Pre-Professional Program at Pacific North West Ballet in Seattle, WA. She spent a year in Germany as an apprentice with Dresden Ballet. She is currently contracted to Lines Ballet in San Francisco.
Lennon graduated from Loyola Marymount with her degree in dance. She is currently working in Hollywood as a freelance dancer for Television, Film and Video, and is building a professional career.
Emily is currently studying in the Ballet Department of the University of Utah. She has enjoyed working with the prestigious staff in the ballet department and looks forward to learning more from all her professors. During her time in Utah, Emily has performed in original works by guest artists Lesley Telford, entitled One29, and Gabrielle Lamb, entitled Springload, in addition to new works created by faculty members Jay Kim and Melissa Bobick. She also performed in the first staging of Stephen Petronio’s Middlesexgorge in a university setting. Recently, Emily was able to explore the art of choreography and present her work in the Ballet Department’s Student Showcase, and looks forward to performing in a new work by Mathew Neenan, co-founder and resident choreographer of BalletX, in the spring.
Anatalia trained at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy from age 3. She has completed all her RAD exams from Grade 1 through Advanced 2. Anatalia was one of 12 students chosen to study at the Colburn Dance Academy during the 2015-2016 school year. This program is under the direction of Jennifer Ringer and Artistic Director Benjamin Millepied. Anatalia has attended summer intensives with San Francisco Ballet and the School of American Ballet. She placed 3rd in the Senior Women’s Classical category at the Youth America Grand Prix in 2014 and proceeded to compete at the finals in New York, where she received a scholarship to Staatsballett Berlin. Anatalia was the recipient of the Darcy Bussell Bursary Scholarship for the 2015 Genée International Ballet Competition held in London, in September. She was one of 10 students worldwide chosen to receive this award. She went on to become one of 9 female finalists at the competition. Anatalia is now an apprentice with the San Francisco Ballet. She will perform in the 2017-18 season.
Sofia started her ballet training at Santa Clarita Ballet at age 3. She enjoys classical ballet training as well as jazz, tap and modern dance. She also attended summer programs at Santa Clarita Ballet as well as American Ballet Theatre in Orange County, Ballet West in Salt Lake City and with the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna. She holds her Advanced 2 RAD Certificate. Sofia is currently attending UC Santa Barbara and is majoring in dance.
